Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must fulfill either Condition A or Condition B as specified below:
- Option A: A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in English, Linguistics, Film Studies, English Literature, or Translation Studies. Additionally, the candidate must have cleared the NET (UGC/CSIR) or a similar accredited test like SLET/SET.
- Option B: A Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (QS, THE, or ARWU).
Exemptions: Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempt from the NET/SLET/SET requirement. A 5% relaxation in marks at the Graduate and Master’s level is provided for SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer), and Differently-abled candidates.
