Income Tax Pune Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Overview
The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr.CCIT), Pune Region, is inviting online applications from qualified, outstanding sportspersons for direct recruitment. This recruitment drive is organized under the sports quota for various ministerial and multi-tasking positions. Eligible athletes who have represented national, international, university, or school events in any of the 17 specified sports categories are welcome to apply before the revised deadline.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
- Stenographer Grade-II: Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Tax Assistant: Candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have passed matriculation (10th standard) or equivalent.
Age Limit (As of January 1, 2026)
- Stenographer & Tax Assistant: Between 18 and 27 years of age.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Between 18 and 25 years of age.
- Age Relaxation: Relaxable up to 5 years for general sports candidates, and up to 10 years for SC/ST sports candidates, as per government rules.

Pay Scales (7th CPC)
- Stenographer Grade-II: Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100)
- Tax Assistant: Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100)
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Level 1 (Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 56,900)

- Fee Amount: Rs. 200
- Payment Mode: Online only. Applications without the payment confirmation will be rejected. The fee is non-refundable.
Selection Methodology
Candidate selection will be executed based on the following phases:
- Preference Ranking: Priority is determined by the sportsperson's highest level of sporting achievements (International, National, Inter-University, School Games, or Khelo India) according to DoPT guidelines.
- Skill Assessment: Selected candidates for Stenographer must pass a dictation and transcription typing test. Tax Assistant candidates must pass a Data Entry Speed Test of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
- Medical Examination & Verification: Final selection is subject to satisfying the medical standards and getting clean police and background verification reports.

- Submit the Rs. 200 application fee online and attach the transaction receipt.
