JKPSC Recruitment 2026 Overview
The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has launched a fresh recruitment drive to fill various academic and administrative vacancies in Government Degree Colleges. According to the official notification, J&K residents can apply online for 205 open positions including Assistant Professors, Librarians, and College Directors of Physical Education & Sports. Eligible candidates must complete their online registration before the final deadline of August 31, 2026.

JKPSC Vacancy Details 2026
The total pool of 205 vacancies is distributed across the following primary roles:
- Assistant Professor: 183 Posts (divided across 29 specialized disciplines)
- College Director of Physical Education & Sports: 9 Posts
- Librarian: 4 Posts

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following qualification and age requirements to be considered for these jobs.
Educational Qualifications
- Assistant Professor (General Disciplines): Candidates must possess a Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/differently-abled candidates or PhD holders who completed their Master's before September 19, 1991). Additionally, passing the National Eligibility Test (NET), SLET, or SET is mandatory. Candidates holding a PhD degree awarded under UGC 2009/2016 regulations are exempt from the exam requirement.
- Assistant Professor (Computer Application): A Master's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for reserved categories/pre-1991 PhD holders), along with a valid NET/SLET/SET score or a qualifying PhD.
- Librarian: A Master's degree in Library Science, Documentation Science, or Information Science with at least 55% marks, a good academic record, and computer literacy, alongside clearing the NET/SLET/SET or equivalent PhD.
- College Director of Physical Education & Sports: A Master's degree in Physical Education & Sports or Sports Science with 55% marks, representation of a college or university in inter-varsity tournaments, and passing the physical fitness test. Clearing NET/SLET/SET or holding a PhD is also required.
Age Limit (as of January 1, 2026)
- Open Merit (OM) & In-Service Candidates: Maximum 40 years
- Reserved Category Candidates: Maximum 43 years
- Physically Challenged Candidates: Maximum 42 years
Domicile Requirement
Only candidates possessing a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply.
Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive a salary scale matching Pay Band Level-10, ranging from Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month along with applicable government allowances.

Selection Methodology
The selection process will be conducted in accordance with Rule 45 of the JKPSC (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021. Eligible applicants will have to appear for a single-paper written test of 3 hours' duration, consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

- Click on "One Time Registration" (OTR) to set up your profile, or log in if you already have an account.
- Fill out the personal profile details, contact information, and academic background.
- Upload scanned copies of your signature and a passport-sized photograph (dated no earlier than Jan 1, 2025) in JPG format (10KB to 20KB).
- Navigate to "Active Examinations," choose the desired post, and click on the "APPLY" link.
- Submit the required forms, proceed to pay the application fee online, and upload the mandatory J&K domicile certificate, PG degree, and NET/PhD documents.
- Save and download a printout of the submitted application form for verification purposes.
